When I first started SalonCon, I felt we would really benefit from having a burlesque act added to our event. I approached Genevieve about it and was thrilled when she said she would put something together for me. When I first went to see the show, I was nervous. Would it be what I imagined? The answer was that it was much better than I could have ever imagined. I got teary eyed and felt goosebumps. It has been such an honor and privilege to see WEBS troupe grow into something far bigger and better than I ever could have imagined and I am so very proud to have been there from the inception. If you haven't seen them yet, you must. They are what burlesque is supposed to be.

I first saw WEB performing at a friend's event. The event was excellent, but WEB absolutely stole the show. I've seen a lot of burlesque in the tri-state area, from Manhattan to Brooklyn to Jersey to Philly, but this was particularly riveting. The stage awareness and stage presence were simply unmatched; this was a a group for whom burlesque was a theatrical expression of the utmost force. The audience was silent during each song, and overcome with applause at song's end. I had to ask them to come and perform for one of my own events, and I couldn't wait; I followed them out and asked them on the spot. ~ Jeff Mach, Author/Musician/Philanthropist/Event Coordinator

I've been pushing WEBS since the day I found out we'd both be at [Totally Normal Event]. In part, this is because I've heard great things about them and because the videos available on youtube are pretty entertaining. Mostly, however, it was because the directors and many of the charter members are very good friends of mine and I have every reason in the world to support them. Having finally seen them perform live I can only say that I have not been singing their praises enough.
The White Elephant Burlesque Society was amazing. Their numbers were all entertaining and innovative, many of them telling very clear stories. Most of the numbers were provocative and suggestive or, yes, downright sexy, but they were interspersed with a couple of more light-hearted comedy pieces that were more reminiscent of Vaudeville than Burlesque--not to mention, of course, Viktor Devonne's excellent emcee-ing.

I wanted to write a quick email to commend the entire White Elephant Burlesque troupe (or at least the ones of you that I saw) for your performance at Wicked Labyrinth. It was very entertaining. You utilize excellent musical choices to accentuate the mood and atmosphere you are attempting. A special accolade for Anyanka (or that was how she was billed in the leaflet) who shown particularly bright. Also, for you [Viktor] for your amusing MC'ing. Though the entire cast provided an enjoyable performance.
